Where you go changes the answer
How Cambodia's regions differ, and when it matters
Cambodia has one wet season and it lands differently depending on where you are. Phnom Penh and Angkor share a May-to-October monsoon with a dry, cooler window from November to February. The southern coast is wetter and stays wet longer, so a beach week and a temple week are not the same trip to plan.

Where to go
Angkor Archaeological Park
The temple complex outside Siem Reap, and the reason most first trips to Cambodia happen. Angkor Wat is one of several hundred structures spread across the park; multi-day passes exist because one day covers very little of it.
Siem Reap
The base for Angkor, and a town in its own right with night markets, river-side restaurants and easy onward transport.
Phnom Penh
The capital, on the confluence of the Mekong and Tonle Sap. The Royal Palace and the National Museum sit within walking distance of the riverfront.
Koh Rong and the southern islands
Reached by boat from Sihanoukville. The quieter beaches are on the far side of the islands from the ferry piers.
Kampot and Kep
River town and seaside town in the south, known for pepper farms and a slower pace than the coast further west.
Battambang
Colonial-era architecture and countryside between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, usually visited as a stop rather than a destination.

The detail
Conditions in full, fees, entries, and extending your stay
- An ordinary Indian passport is not exempt. Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes a visa-exemption table broken down by passport class, and India's row reads 60 days for diplomatic and official passports and a dash for ordinary ones.
- The terms recorded here are the Tourist (Type-T) sticker visa as published by the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Washington D.C.: single entry, 30 days, and the visa must be used within three months of issue.
- The USD 30 fee is the amount that embassy prints for applications made to it. Cambodia also operates an official e-Visa at evisa.gov.kh, whose fee and terms we have not been able to read, so the amount you pay applying online may differ.
- Cambodia is reported to operate a visa on arrival, but no official Cambodian source we could reach states whether it is open to Indian passport holders or on what terms. Treat this as a visa to arrange before you fly until that is confirmed.
- Extending your stay
- Possible. The Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Washington D.C. states the tourist visa can be extended once, for a further 30 days, at the Cambodia Immigration Office after arrival.
- Number of entries
- Single entry. Once you leave, the authorisation is spent.
- Visa fee
- US$30.
