How long you can stay
Singapore does not fix your length of stay in advance. Your visa only lets you travel to Singapore and ask to be let in — it is not permission to stay for any particular length of time. The number of days you get is decided by an immigration officer when you land, and appears on the electronic visit pass emailed to you on arrival. Singapore publishes no standard figure, so check your e-Pass before you make plans that depend on the date.

No figure is published. The High Commission of Singapore in New Delhi states that "Possession of a visa does not guarantee entry into Singapore" and that visitors "must also meet entry requirements such as holding a valid passport, sufficient funds for the period of stay in Singapore and confirmed onward/return air ticket (if applicable)". This is assessed by ICA officers at the checkpoint, not at the visa application stage, and no source states what sum satisfies it.

How Singapore's regions differ, and when it matters
Singapore sits just north of the equator and barely has seasons — the average high is between 30.5°C and 32.4°C every single month of the year, and the average low never leaves the 24–26°C band. What changes is rain, not temperature. The northeast monsoon brings the wettest stretch from November to January, with December averaging 332mm, while February is markedly the driest at 105mm. Even so, rain here usually arrives as intense afternoon downpours lasting an hour rather than all-day drizzle, and the city is built to absorb it: the MRT, the malls and the covered walkways mean a wet month affects a trip far less than it would elsewhere. There is nowhere cooler to escape to — the island is 50km across and uniformly hot and humid.

Where to go
Gardens by the Bay
The Supertree Grove, plus the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome conservatories. The free Garden Rhapsody light show runs nightly — go for that and pay only for the domes if the weather turns.
Marina Bay Sands and the waterfront
The three-tower hotel with the ship-shaped SkyPark on top. The observation deck is ticketed; the Spectra light and water show on the promenade below is free.
Sentosa
The resort island: Universal Studios, S.E.A. Aquarium, beaches and the cable car. Easily a full day, and the single biggest draw for Indian families travelling with children.
Hawker centres
Maxwell, Lau Pa Sat, Old Airport Road and Tiong Bahru. The cheapest way to eat extremely well in an expensive city, and where most vegetarian and halal options are easiest to find.
Little India and Kampong Glam
Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, the Mustafa Centre open around the clock, and the Sultan Mosque with the shophouses and murals of Haji Lane nearby.
Singapore Botanic Gardens
A UNESCO World Heritage Site and free to enter, apart from the National Orchid Garden. The best green space on the island and a genuine break from the heat under mature trees.
Singapore Zoo and Night Safari
Consistently rated among the world's best zoos, built around open enclosures rather than cages. The adjacent Night Safari is a separate ticket and a separate evening.

The detail
Conditions in full, fees, entries, and extending your stay
- India is named on ICA's list of countries whose nationals need a visa: "If your travel document is issued by one of the countries/ places listed below, you will require a valid visa to enter Singapore."
- Holders of Indian diplomatic, official and service passports do not need a visa. This page covers ordinary passports only.
- ⚠️ A visa is not permission to enter. ICA states that "A Singapore entry visa is not an immigration pass. It is a pre-entry permission for the holder of a valid visa to travel to, and seek entry, into Singapore." The officer at the checkpoint makes the final decision.
- ⚠️ Being granted a visa does not settle what you must show at the checkpoint. The Singapore High Commission in New Delhi states that visitors "must also meet entry requirements such as holding a valid passport, sufficient funds for the period of stay in Singapore and confirmed onward/return air ticket (if applicable)", and that entry "is determined by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers at the point of entry". Neither the funds nor the ticket is quantified, the list is introduced with "such as" rather than presented as complete, and the "(if applicable)" attaches to the ticket — but a tourist flying in and out should expect both to apply. Carry a return booking and a card with a usable balance.
- You cannot apply directly as an individual. Applications go through an authorised visa agent, a strategic partner's e-Service, or a local contact in Singapore — a citizen or permanent resident aged at least 21 who provides a Letter of Introduction (Form V39A).
- The government fee is S$30, non-refundable whatever the outcome. The Singapore High Commission in New Delhi charges a fixed INR 2,100 for the same processing, and authorised agents may add a service fee of up to Rs 1,300 on top. Our rupee conversion of the S$30 figure will not match the ₹2,100 exactly — the High Commission sets its own fixed local rate.
- Apply within 30 days before you travel. ICA quotes three working days for processing; the New Delhi High Commission quotes three to five.
- Your passport must have at least six months validity, and you need two colour photographs taken within the last three months.
- Everyone must submit the SG Arrival Card before arriving — it is separate from the visa, must be filed within three days of arrival including the day itself, and is free. ICA warns that commercial sites charging for it are not affiliated with them.
- You may not work in any form, paid or unpaid, on a short-term visit pass.
- If you are only passing through, Indian nationals travelling to or from a third country by air may qualify for a 96-hour Visa Free Transit Facility. Transit rules are outside the scope of this page — check ICA directly.
- Extending your stay
- Possible. You can apply online to extend a short-term visit pass, and ICA says to do it when your pass has 14 days or less remaining. Extensions are discretionary — "ICA considers every application holistically based on a range of factors". A S$40 fee applies if the extension takes your total stay to 90 days or more from the date of entry.
- Number of entries
- Varies — confirm with the embassy for your itinerary.
- Visa fee
- SGD 30.
- Cost of extending
- Up to 90 days total from arrival — SGD 40
Charged by the destination in SGD, at the counter that grants the extension.

Common questions
- Do Indians need a visa for Singapore?
- Indian ordinary passport holders must arrange a visa in advance to visit Singapore for tourism. Last checked 16 August 2026.
- How long can Indians stay in Singapore?
- Singapore does not commit to a length of stay before you arrive. An immigration officer decides it at the checkpoint and it is recorded on the electronic visit pass you are issued on entry.
- How long must my passport be valid to enter Singapore?
- Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months on the date you enter Singapore. Renew before you travel if it expires sooner.
- Do I need to fill in an arrival form for Singapore?
- Yes. Singapore requires an arrival form from travellers before they arrive, separately from any visa. Submit it at https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard/ before you travel.
- How much money do I need to show to enter Singapore?
- Officials may ask you to show funds on arrival.
- When is the best time to visit Singapore?
- February, April, May, June, July, August, September and October. These ratings are based on climate normals measured at Singapore. Check the month-by-month breakdown before booking a specific destination.
- How much does a trip to Singapore cost per day?
- Roughly ₹4,000 per day on a budget, ₹8,500 mid-range, or ₹22,000 for luxury travel — per person, excluding international flights. Estimated 16 August 2026.
